Mit 10 % höherer Steifigkeit als das Modell M9000, auch bei hohen Temperaturen, und einem geringeren Gewicht dank des Magnesium-Hauptbremszylinders ist dieser Hebel 26 g leichter als sein Vorgänger. Zusätzlich ermöglicht sie ein schnelleres Ansprechverhalten der Bremse bei kürzerem Leerweg.
